As if the past few weeks couldn't get any stranger. It would appear that the ghost of Ted Bundy is once again showing up at the Florida State Prison in Raiford, Florida (now known as Union Correctional Institution) according to a current inmate at the facility:
I'm a resident of UCI in Bradford Co, FL. serving a life sentence. For many years I heard the rumors of Ted Bundy's ghost appearing and didn't believe it. Now, my mind has changed. I and other residents (including staff) have witnessed the ghost on many occasions. It is definitely Bundy. It comes in the early morning before dawn in our housing unit and in different cells. He's always smiling. It's a white-blue mist but very detailed. Some of the other residents claim to hear him talking. I have not heard that yet. Any suggestions on how this can be taken care of?
In 2008, the reports coming from the prison were very strange. It appeared that the ghost of Ted Bundy showed up and terrorized prison guards and inmates. A guard who asked not to be identified said that Bundy's ghost appeared in the area where he was executed and in his former cell where he spent his last hours before being put into Florida's electric chair.
Up until the end Bundy tried to save his life by offering to tell where more bodies were buried, but eventually officials refused to give him any more time and he was executed. The 2008 reports of his ghost leaked out of the prison. It was reported that the Warden's staff even threatened to fire guards if they spread the story of Ted's ghost being at the prison. It is also rumored that some guards were scared into quitting their jobs because of Bundy's spectre.
Now, out of the blue, I receive this email. I checked the address and it was definitely sent from the facility named. So is Ted Bundy back? Did it actually come from an inmate...or possibly a guard? Maybe I'll receive further information.
Record-breaking 128lb Python that measures 18ft and 8in long is captured and killed in Florida
The biggest ever Python snake found in Florida, measuring 18 feet and 8 inches long, has been captured and killed.
The 128lb giant female reptile broke the previous record by over a foot.
The Burmese Python, an invasive species to the Florida Everglades, was found and killed by Jason Leon in a rural area southeast of Miami.
He managed to snare the snake after seeing part of its body sticking out the undergrowth.
With the help of a friend he killed the snake with a knife. According to University of Florida scientists, the snake was not carrying eggs.
Florida Wildlife officials later told him it was the biggest ever recorded in the state. The previous longest was 17ft and seven inches.
'We were riding and I saw something poking out on the side of the road. At first I didn't know what it was,' said Veronica Larios, who accompanied Leon to the Everglades.
In a video recorded by another friend Blake Jordan Leon can be seen grabbing the snake by it's neck.
Larios hands Leon a knife and helps him move the snake's body as it tried to coil around her friend.
Leon said: 'For about 10 minutes, he was wrapping around my legs, around my arms. I was switching arms, and finally. We finally pulled him apart, stretched him out, and took a knife and cut his head.'
'I knew that it was a big snake and I've never seen it in the wild. I knew it didn't belong there. I knew they had to be removed so I grabbed it.'
The snake was later given to the University of Florida's Fort Lauderdale Research and Education Center for a necropsy.
Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Committee, recently sanctioned a hunt to try and rid the Everglades of the pythons.
A total of 63 pythons were captured as 1,600 people took part in the month long hunt with the longest 14ft 3in.
The Pythons are killing other small animals in the one million acre Everglades.
They are also thought to be breeding an at alarming rate with the first reptiles released into the Everglades thought to have been pets that outgrew their containers. - Daily Mail
The oldest man alive today is 115-years-old. But will Jiroemon Kimura be alive at the age of 150? Probably not, but Dr. Aubrey de Grey believes that the first person capable of living to 150 is already alive.
De Grey believes that advances in technology and medicine will soon enable people to live long past 100-years-old.
De Grey said: “I’ve always been fastidious in only saying that the first such person is PROBABLY alive today. I would estimate the chance at 90%, though that could fall as low as 70% if funding for the relevant research in the coming decade or two is not sharply increased.”
De Grey likened the situation to an old car, saying that if you take care of a car it will run for a very long time. The same is true with the human body.
De Grey said: “It’s always been a mystery to me why this isn’t totally obvious to everyone. Do we let cars fall apart when they get old? – yes in general, but not if we really want them not to – that’s why we have 50 year old VW Beetles driving around, and even vintage cars. It’s bizarre that people don’t see that the exact same thing is true of the machine we call the human body, just that that machine is a lot more complicated so the development of sufficiently comprehensive preventative maintenance is a lot more challenging.”
De Grey said that he has “no data” to confirm his prediction but that doesn’t mean that living to 150 isn’t possible.
A recent study in Science claims that an anti-aging found in red wine could help people to live to 150-years-old. Professor David Sinclair, from UNSW Medicine, said that there are more than 117 anti-aging drugs, which would also fight diabetes, cancer, and Alzheimer’s, use an enzyme called SIRT1. The anti-aging drugs could be on the shelf in the next five years.
Sinclair said: “Ultimately, these drugs would treat one disease, but unlike drugs of today, they would prevent 20 others … In effect, they would slow ageing.” - Inquistr

Sinkhole or forgotten basement
Officials are trying to determine what caused the floor of a northern New Jersey warehouse to open up, swallowing a forklift and the man who was running it.
Authorities say Danny Rodriguez of Bronx, N.Y., managed to escape serious injury as his forklift sank into the 6- to 10-foot deep hole Monday in the East Rutherford warehouse rented by AM Express Freight.
The hole filled with cooking oil and soy sauce that was stored in the warehouse.
The owner's property manager, Bruce Jordan, told The Record newspaper (http://bit.ly/16KL9yz ) it appeared the reinforced concrete slab foundation had given way over a long-forgotten basement under the building.

Strange Marks
Netherlands: Woke up last sunday with these marks on my left shoulder.
I just want to know if someone else maybe had the same ones.
It's like a hexagon shape with one dot seeming out of place.
Can't remember resting heavy or pointy materials on my shoulder, but I'm still searching for something normal that explains these dots.
No pain no strange things happening further.
Today is the first tuesday after, dots slowly disappear. - MUFON CMS

Lunar real estate sales legit
If someone tried to sell me the moon, I would dismiss them as con artists. So I was pretty surprised to learn about Denis Hope, a 65-year-old man from Gardnerville, Nevada, who runs a legit business selling land plots on the Moon, Mars, Venus, Io and Mercury. Of course, there’s no legal backing to all this, but there’s nobody stopping him either. As long as he’s able to make people smile, he says he can do anything he wants. He’s been in business since 1980.
Hope is a former-ventriloquist, now in the business of space real-estate. Some people view his work as the selling of ‘novelty items’ such as pet rocks and certificates. Others argue that he’s taking forth the age-old American tradition of land speculators selling plots of useless land. Hope admits that there are several others selling property in outer space, but the difference is that those people are criminal in their intent. He considers himself the legit owner of the Moon, so what he’s doing is all right. How come he is so confident, you ask? Well, he says this is as real as any other property you can buy on Earth, and that’s because he filed a declaration with the United Nations. Otherwise, Hope says he wouldn’t be selling at all. - odditycentral.com
Much less famous than its Bermuda counterpart, a wide area in the state of Nevada (and remote parts of its neighbor California) seems to have had more than its fair share of planes crashing or going missing. It’s known as the Nevada Triangle. An estimated 2,000 planes have crashed in the area in the last 60 years — an average of three a month!
Much of Nevada is uninhabited, and parts are virtually inaccessible by helicopter or truck. This doesn’t completely explain why the planes crashed, and so an explanation is needed for many of the incidents.
Some who study the Triangle include the mysterious Area 51 within the confines of the Triangle, which adds to the allure of the mystery.
Arguably the most famous incident involving the Triangle concerns the adventurer Steve Fossett’s episode from the autumn of 2007.
Fossett had logged countless hours in numerous airplanes. He held multiple records for journeys involving planes and hot air balloons — including being the first person to make a solo trip around the world in a balloon.
He was no novice.
On September 3, 2007, Steve Fossett set out for a flight that would take him across the Nevada Triangle. He was to return to the same airport he started from — a quick round-trip flight.
He never arrived back at his home base, the Flying-M Ranch.
An intensive search across Nevada and in the Sierra Nevada mountains found no trace of Fossett or of his plane. After searching for almost a month, the official search was called off.
In September of 2008, a backpacker hiking in the mountains that separate Nevada from California came across identification papers belonging to Fossett. Another search, several days later, yielded the remains of his plane. There was no log or “black box” to give information about the last moments of the plane’s flight. Fossett’s whole body was never found, although two small bones near the crash site were a match to his DNA.
Explanations for Fossett’s doomed flight ranged from freakish meteorological conditions to the old stand-by of outer-space aliens.
But, in the end, nobody knows what caused an expert pilot to crash into the deserted mountains. And there are only guesses as to the causes of so many other crashed planes throughout history.
The Triangle keeps its secrets. - The Daily Mail - 1/3/2010
For centuries, people have been fascinated by the Bermuda Triangle -- a stretch of the Atlantic Ocean where countless planes and boats have disappeared.
There's another place that captivates the mysteries of the unknown. It's called the Bermuda Triangle on land, and part of it lies right here in the Central Valley.
Mystery or myth? A vast, deadly landscape that encompasses the Central Valley, has invited question and intrigue for decades. A place where pilots and planes have vanished. A place much like the Bermuda Triangle.
Nathan Magsig, Fresno Airport Land Use Commission Chairman says, "My father was an avid pilot, he was in the air force for a number of years as well as the air national guard. He flew F4's and F101's and always grew up loving to fly planes."
On November 6, 1998, Nathan Magsig's father, Lowell, took his last flight. The Clovis man was flying from Nevada back to Fresno's Chandler Airport. His flight plan would take him over the rugged Sierra mountains. A route famous for high peaks, dangerous winds and turbulence.
Magsig says, "Apparently a freak storm had come in. Unfortunately my father's plane had crashed into Mt.Goddard and all three members on that plane passed away."
After an intensive, six day search, the men and the plane were found. But that's not always the case.
Part of the Sierra Mountain Range lies in an area called the Nevada Triangle. It covers 25,000 square miles of land, with Fresno at it's southwest corner. It's a place where more than 2,000 planes have gone missing in the last 60 years.
"We have three in the Sierras now, one that dates back to 1941, where the pilot bailed out and was eventually rescued, but his fighter plane has never been found and that's in Kings Canyon," says Aviation Accident Historian, G. Pat Macha.
Pat Macha has researched more than 550 crash sites in the High Sierra.
Macha says, "It's weather, weather and weather."
But is it just weather that has caused the pilots of these small planes to crash? Some people believe there have just been too many cases, too many lives lost, and think something else, something more mysterious might be happening. - KSEE24

Child-reports often feature very specific details in common with reports of abduction made by adults, including the circumstances, narrative, entities and aftermaths of the alleged occurrences. Often these young abductees have family members who have reported having abduction experiences. Family involvement in the military, or a residence near a military base is also common amongst child abduction claimants.
Budd Hopkins once investigated "several mask and novelty stores" for a commercially produced grey alien costume for children, but could not. He feels that this supports the hypothesis that children are not familiar with "greys." John Carpenter also believes that young children are not "contaminated" with cultural images of greys. He reports that a fellow investigator who is a school teacher requested her children to draw an alien, and that none of them drew a Grey-like being.
Children seem to react differently to their alleged abduction experiences than adult claimants. Many alleged adult experiencers report doubting their sanity or the veracity of what they believed happened to them. Children, by contrast, never seem to doubt that their experiences happened to them. For an adult, an abduction experience can challenge much of what they believe about the world. Children however, by virtue of being in a formative stage of development, more readily assimilate the experience into their developing worldview.
Many repeat-abductees report that, as children from the ages of 2-6, they would be visited by balls of light that would enter their room at night. These balls would seem to play games with children and fly around the room. Some have interpreted them as being a way for the alleged abductees to develop their psychic abilities the way a physical ball helps develop coordination and athletic abilities. As such these intangible orbs have been dubbed "psychic toys." Although these phantasms are alleged to have appeared regularly, no corroborating sightings from members of the abductees' families or others that may have been expected to see them have been reported.
Those children are tested through drawings, asked to make drawings of their abduction experience. Incredibly all of them come out with very similar drawings of what seems to be aliens and UFOs.
-----
The Process: Alien Abduction of Children
Aliens first immobilize their victims, both physically and psychologically, using some kind of telepathic-mind control. Victims can also be influenced to move and do things they don't want to do.
Children and babies, yes, babies, are usually taken at night. Children can also be influenced to walk in an open area to be taken or during travel to and from school. Children can be "floated" out of their rooms, through walls or windows up into a waiting alien spacecraft.
Aliens take children singly or in groups to play with their alien/hybrid children to teach the hybrids human behavior. The process is ongoing. Several drawings illustrate this.
Aliens also take children and babies for experimentation. The aliens also perform physical experiments, take tissue samples for further genetic manipulation and attempt physical alteration of their subjects. The reason for Immersing both children and adults in vats of liquid is unknown. Several drawings illustrate alien activities on children, including immersion in vats of liquid.
From what we can obtain by hypnotic regression, and in some cases consciously recalled memories, reproductive procedures are performed on both men and women. Sperm is obtained from men and eggs from women. Aliens also perform some reproductive procedures on children who have not achieved puberty as well as those in puberty.
When the aliens are finished they return their victims to their original location, sometimes not in the same spot. When parents find a baby lying outside its crib in the morning for no known reason the baby was possibly abducted. Children found in different beds in the morning also may have been abducted.
The abduction of humans by aliens is an ongoing, lifelong process. The abduction process continues throughout the life of the individual.
Budd Hopkins was a world-renowned artist, author, and pioneer UFO abduction researcher. Having investigated well over 700 cases, he was head of the Intruders Foundation, a nonprofit, scientific research and support organization. Taken together, his three books, Missing TimeIntruders: The Incredible Visitations at Copley WoodsWitnessed; The True Story of the Brooklyn Bridge UFO Abductions are widely regarded by researchers and skeptics alike as comprising the most influential series of books yet published on the abduction phenomenon. These works, Hopkins' lectures, and his other presentations have been responsible for bringing a number of other noted researchers - David Jacobs, John Carpenter, Yvonne Smith, and John Mack, among others - into this extraordinary area of specialization. Mount Troy, PA - 10/28/2010 - unedited: I am writing this report for my girlfriend, as she is nervous in wanting to tell this story. This event took place towards the end of October, 2010, in a duplex in the woods of Troy Hill, PA. My girlfriend recounts this as a "dream", but the way she tells it and remembers it so vividly scares me and I believe that this could have actually happened. She has never had any odd experiences in her life so for her to have this "dream" seems really strange. I, however have seen my fair share of strange things in the sky and fully believe in aliens and all of that. I convinced her to let me tell this event as it may have actually happened and I would like you guys to check it out, we are willing to discuss the event further and answer any questions you may have. Here it is. I am typing this as she speaks it from here on out.
I remember it being very early in the morning and I woke up to 5-6 beings in the room. There was a little one standing in front of my closet, 2 tall ones, 1 standing on each side of the little one, 1 to the left by the base of the bed, and 1 or 2 standing off to the right of our bed. The little one was staring at me, not making any sounds or gestures, but by the way he was I guessed that he might have been their leader. As he was looking at me the tall ones started moving around the room, at this point I tried to get up and couldnt move any portion of my body, and couldnt scream or do anything. We were sleeping on an air mattress, so we were only a foot of the floor. One of the talls came over and got behind my head and peered over me, looking down at me, then he walked away. Then him and one or two of the other talls went over to where my boyfriend was sleeping, at this point a bright shining light came through the window and was shining on the floor of the room, lighting up the entire room. As it got brighter, the little one and 2 of the talls moved towards the window and the light and I couldnt see them anymore, I lost sight of them. The rest of the remaining beings all converged on the light and window, and as they are getting close to the window my boyfriends body starts to levitate, lifting into the air. At this time Im not worrying about the beings as Im focusing on my boyfriend elevating into the air, I regain the ability to move and I start screaming and crying and I jump onto my b/fs body. I remember the impact of me landing on him lowered him out of the air a little bit but he continued to rise, Im still screaming and I lose sight of the rest of the beings. It gets super bright, and thats all I remember of the event until I wake up the next morning next to my boyfriend, unusually late. I remember waking up, sweating, and feeling very frightened and it being around noon. I felt like I woke up later than I usually did, and I was very groggy. My b/f also felt like he had slept for way longer than he did, and felt like we had both lost time. He had no memory of this as he stayed asleep the whole time during the event it.
Now she told me about this "dream" and thats when I told her about my experiences with seeing things in the sky. What scares me is that she can describe this story with amazing detail, and vividly remembers their faces and everything. We were living with her Mom and Step dad at the time and they were in the room next to us. If you guys would like feel free to contact us and wed be glad to answer any questions for you. MUFON CMS
Five copper coins and a nearly 70-year-old map with an ‘‘X’’ might lead to a discovery that could rewrite Australia’s history.
Australian scientist Ian McIntosh, currently Professor of Anthropology at Indiana University in the US, plans an expedition in July that has stirred up the archaeological community.
The scientist wants to revisit the location where five coins were found in the Northern Territory in 1944 that have proven to be 1000 years old, opening up the possibility that seafarers from distant countries might have landed in Australia much earlier than what was currently believed.
Back in 1944 during World War II, after Japanese bombers had attacked Darwin two years earlier, the Wessel Islands — an uninhabited group of islands off Australia’s north coast — had become a strategic position to help protect the mainland.
Australian soldier Maurie Isenberg was stationed on one of the islands to man a radar station and spent his spare time fishing on the idyllic beaches.
While sitting in the sand with his fishing-rod, he discovered a handful of coins in the sand.
He didn’t have a clue where they could come from but pocketed them anyway and later placed them in a tin.
In 1979 he rediscovered his ‘‘treasure’’ and decided to send the coins to a museum to get them identified.
The coins proved to be 1000 years old.
Still not fully realising what treasure he held in his hands, he marked an old colleague’s map with an ‘‘X’’ to remember where he had found them.
The discovery was apparently forgotten again until anthropologist McIntosh got the ball rolling a few months ago.
The coins raise many important questions:
How did 1000-year-old coins end up on a remote beach on an island off the northern coast of Australia?
Did explorers from distant lands arrive on Australian shores way before the James Cook declared it ‘‘terra nullius’’ and claimed it for the British throne in 1770?
We do know already that Captain Cook wasn’t the first white seafarer to step on Australia’s shores.
In 1606 a Dutch explorer named Willem Janszoon reached the Cape York peninsula in Queensland, closely followed a few years late by another Dutch seafarer Dirk Hartog.
And the Spaniard Luiz Vaez de Torres discovered the strait between Papua New Guinea and Australia, which was later named Torres Strait in his honour.
However, none of these explorers recognised that they had discovered the famed southern continent, the ‘‘terra australis incognita‘‘, which was depicted as a counterweight to the known land masses of the northern hemisphere on many world maps of the day.
McIntosh and his team of Australian and American historians, archaeologists, geomorphologists and Aboriginal rangers say that the five coins date back to the 900s to 1300s.
They are African coins from the former Kilwa sultanate, now a World Heritage ruin on an island off Tanzania.
Kilwa once was a flourishing trade port with links to India in the 13th to 16th century.
The trade with gold, silver, pearls, perfumes, Arabian stoneware, Persian ceramics and Chinese porcelain made the city one of the most influential towns in East Africa at the time.
The copper coins were the first coins ever produced in sub-Saharan Africa and according to McIntosh have only twice been found outside Africa; once in Oman and Isenberg’s find in 1944.
The old coins might not be of monetary value, but for archaeologists they are priceless, said McIntosh.
Archaeologists have long suspected that there may have been early maritime trading routes that linked East Africa, Arabia, India and the Spice Islands even 1000 years ago.
Or the coins could’ve washed ashore after a shipwreck.
When Isenberg discovered the copper coins he also found four coins that originated from the Dutch East India Company — with one dating back to 1690 raising memories of those early Dutch seafarers that stepped on Australian shores well before Cook.
McIntosh wants to answer some of these mysteries during his planned expedition to the Wessel Islands in July.
And it’s not only about revisiting the beach that was marked with an ‘‘X’’ on Isenberg’s map.
He will also be looking for a secret cave Aboriginal legends talk about.
This cave is supposed to be close to the beach where Isenberg once found the coins and is said to be filled with doubloons and weaponry of an ancient era.
Should McIntosh and his team find what they are looking for, the find might not only be priceless treasure, but relics that could rewrite Australian history. - Stuff

The Vanishers: Buddy could you spare a dime?
New York Is Full Of Them, But What Are They?
Some true life experiences by: Posey Gilbert
One day as I was leaving Key Foods Supermarket burdened with two shopping bags I noticed an elderly woman talking to a truck driver waiting at a red light.
He handed her something.
The light changed and he pulled off from the old woman rather rudely, I thought, for she was in mid sentence when he did this.
I looked away for she was obviously embarrassed by the guy’s actions, but she'd caught me looking and now turned to walk toward me.
I stepped aside to let her pass, but she stopped and said, " Please I need some money to buy some bread, could you help me?"
Shame faced she opened her hand to show me the change in her palm.
She was about my mother's age
"What the hell are you doing out here begging for money this early in the morning?" I thought but did not say.
"Can't help you," I grunted and walked away from her although I did have some dollars crumpled in my hand.
I never handle my money in front of strangers even if my intent us to give them money so I walked a bit away from her.
Setting my bags down at the crossing light I separated some money from my change pushed the rest into my inner coat pocket, and called to her.
She came over and saying nothing I gave it to her and started across the street, as I reached the sidewalk something told me to look back at her.
She was just standing there looking blankly at me.
I started to walk and "it" said, "Now look at her."
I did, and she was gone.

Glowing green forest...Foxfire
There are certain times when the woods begin to glow. Sometimes they glow so much that people call the Park Service and ask them to send a hazmat team. What they're actually seeing is foxfire. And although we know how it happens, we don't know exactly why.
The picture above is a lovely example of one instance of the phenomenon known as foxfire. It's the jack-o-lantern mushroom, a cheery orange mushroom during the day, that goes ethereal around the gills at night. Taking a jack-o-lantern mushroom into a dark room and letting your eyes adjust and the delicate light from the underside of the mushroom gives you a beautiful look at the ruffled bottom of the canopy.
The picture to the left is also an image of foxfire, and you can see why it sometimes causes people to think they're at the origin site of the teenage mutant ninja turtles. Although it can be pretty, it's not symmetric, it's not readily identifiable, and it occasionally covers entire forest glades. Less overwhelming, but equally unsettling, it shows up in people's woodpiles. This is the work of the honey mushroom. The body of the mushroom is above ground, but its rootlike structures grow underground and up into rotting wood. On dark nights, it looks like the wood is glowing green.
The reaction is the result of a pigment, luciferin, and an enzyme, luciferase. Combine the two in the presence of oxygen and the luciferase obligingly glues two atoms of oxygen to the luciferin. The reaction produces energy, which is released as light. It's the same reaction that lights up the firefly. Unlike the firefly, the mushroom can't turn the process off and on at will, and so glows all the time. During the day or on bright nights, we already see so much light that we don't notice the dim glow of the foxfire.
Although the luciferin reaction is extraordinarily energy efficient, it has to cost the mushroom energy to dispense so much light. Why, then, do the mushrooms do it? No one quite knows. Some people think they serve as warning signals, the same way bright colors on a beetle warn off predators. Others think that they are actually meant to draw insects to the mushroom, which can help spread the mushroom's spores. - io9
On the evening of September 2, 2007, residents along southern England, from Cornwall to Surrey, were baffled to see mysterious lights in the sky. Several dozen people reported seeing about 12 lights in the shape of a ferris wheel adorn the sky. No definite explanation has yet been given of the extraordinary light formation, leaving the star gazers scratching their heads as to what could have caused it.
What follows is an eyewitness account w/ photo that was forwarded to me:
I am near Penzance, Cornwall, U. K. I took this with my Panasonic lumix dmc-fz50 non slr type camera, enhanced it as best I could, I got the original, be good to have it analyzed? It looks red in the original, but I saw, with my naked eye, red, white, blue, yellow, orange and green.
There has been a lot of unusual helicopter activity... although Culdrose is nearby, (largest helicopter base in Europe), they were circling the area a lot. (maybe they lost their lanterns and were searching for them.
As well as tether type sightings, which I photographed, we have witnessed orange (probes) lights, they were in the local paper, they used the lanterns excuse. Also smaller craft with red and blue lights that moved like the one by the space station in the June 19 Shuttle undock footage.
Penzance, Cornwall, U.K.
NOTE: I had this image and others analyzed by an photography specialist...no determination as to origin was given. Lon
Other eyewitness accounts from media sources:
I did e mail my comments Sunday morning (2nd) but think i did it wrong (still a novice on the computer). Friday night about 10.00p.m. I was in the garden, we have a road alongside our garden with a terrace of cottages across this road (west) to one side and open skies across gardens the other (east). I noticed a bright light high in the sky appear over the cottages and thinking it was a plane stood and watched, noticing others following close behind realised they were too close for planes and there was no noise - yet I frequently watch planes and even when they are in the distance they can be heard. These lights began appearing over the rooves of the cottages quite close behind each other but spread across the sky and quite high up and went high across our house. I realised my husband would think I was balmy if I were to tell him so ran indoors where he was sound asleep on the sofa, I shook him and got him outside and we both watched in the garden as the lights still appeared from the west over the cottages towards the east and disappearing into the clouds in the far distance. This went on for at least 5 minutes in all and I would think about 50 to 60 lights and two of them seemed to 'play' with each other - darting across and overtaking. It was quite spooky being silent and so many of them. My husband, who would have thought I was crackers had he not seen them, was as mystified as myself.
I would like to think there was an explanation for this and would feel happier if there were. I did phone Epsom Police about 11.15 (after watching the London news) to see if any other reports had been received and initially I think they thought I had come out the pub! but after a serious conversation they logged my details. My husband also said that on Saturday a few phone calls were made to Radio Jackie from people who had also witnessed this happening. Any answers. Laysers have been suggested, but surely these would not have drifted into the clouds until the last one disappeared but would have suddenly 'gone out'. If you have any answers please let us know.
Linda Hope, West Ewell
I saw the same thing!! i am still freaked out to be honest, and also excited to see that i was not seeing things. i was in the garden at my mums in epsom at 10pm and saw what looked like 3 planes in formation, i called my mum out to see and all of a sudden another two in perfect line came out of nowhere. We thought it could be micro lites or something but at 10pm?? we stood and watched and in total saw approx 20 lights come over. all seemed to be in some sort of formation with each other. yet as quickly as they seemed to appear from no where they dissapeared again in to nothing this was 10.05. Please can some one say if they have an idea what these were as i so far can not find a reasonable explanation and am really intrigued.
Lisa, Epsom
My son called me to tell me there were some strange lights in the sky. This was around 10pm on Friday, August 31st. I looked out of the window and saw what looked like a formation of orange aeroplanes in the sky going past my window. I looked to my right where they were originating from and they seemed to be coming up from the ground one after another like bubbles being blown. They were coming from a fair distance away and they "flew" across the sky over Stoneleigh/Ewell and we watched each one reach a spot in the sky and then disappear. They just faded into the sky. We realised that they were too close together to be aeroplanes and at first I thought they may have been the army or police. They all followed the same path and appeared as orange lights and crosses that pulsated. It was quite scary as it was an unusual sight to see. I didn't count how many there were and they definitely were not air balloons which would have drifted in different directions. They didn't seem to make any noise as helicopters do when flying past. I wondered if someone had set these lights off in memory of Princess Diana being her 10th anniversary. But my son and I can't explain these lights as they don't seem to be physical and were just lights. It's frustrating not knowing what they were and not anyone coming forward to say if they had anything to do with them.
